How do I make a booking with Cotswold Inns & Hotels?

We try to make our booking process as easy as possible, so you can either book online (www.cotswold-inns-hotels.co.uk/#booking), phone/email your chosen hotel, or speak to a member of our central reservations team – 01386 769100, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

If you live nearby one of our hotels, you are also more than welcome to pop in and make a reservation in person with a member of friendly reception team. You’ll find contact details for each hotel below…

I want to make a booking for one night but your system only has availability if I select to stay longer, why is that?

Sometimes if availability is limited, a small number of rooms will be held for those guests who wish to stay for a longer duration. If this is the case, we recommend checking the availability of our other hotels nearby. Alternatively, contact our Central Reservations team on 01386 769100 for assistance Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Are the rates shown per person or per room?

The rates shown on our website are per room, including VAT.

Do I have to pay a deposit to confirm my booking?

Most of our stays, for example Bed and Breakfast, only require a credit or debit card as guarantee, and your stay will be charged on arrival to the hotel. Some special events or seasonal stays do require a 25% non refundable deposit. If a deposit is required this is explained in the booking conditions of the package. In the event of cancellation, this deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable due to the size and limited availability at our small country house hotels.

What is Cotswold Inns & Hotels’ cancellation policy?

When no deposit is required, you can enjoy free cancellation up to 2pm local hotel time three days prior to arrival. Cancellations or amendments made after this time, or during your stay, will be chargeable to the value of your stay total. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Please note that a different cancellation policy applies to groups, certain seasonal stays and special events.

How sure can I be that I’m getting the best price?

We guarantee to offer the best price when you book direct with us online or over the phone. Booking direct also get exclusive access to our special offers and go on our priority list for room upgrades.

How do I make a group booking?

Bookings of 6 rooms or more are subject to group terms and should therefore be booked via our Central Reservations team on 01386 769100, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Group bookings of under 6 rooms can be arranged via the Central Reservations Office or your chosen hotel.

How do I know if my booking has been confirmed?

However you choose to make your direct booking with us, we will send you a confirmation email with details of your stay and a booking reference number

I haven’t received my email confirmation. What should I do?

Please check your spam filter as a first port of call. If it’s not there, it looks like you’ve encountered a technical problem. Please call the hotel directly or contact our central reservations office on 01386 769100 for assistance Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Can Cotswold Inns accommodate families?

We have a small number of family and adjoining rooms across the group and can provide cots free of charge with prior notice. Extra beds are available in larger bedrooms for a cost of £20 per night, including a full English Breakfast. These beds are strictly for under 12s.

Interconnecting rooms are not always shown on the website as they are also available for sole use, so to enquire please contact your preferred hotel or our central reservations office on 01386 769100, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Can I book a trip to include stays at multiple hotels in the Cotswold Inns collection?

We are passionate about our beautiful Cotswold locations and love it when our guests want to stay at multiple properties in order to explore the wonderful towns, villages and attractions in the area.

Unfortunately, there is no way of doing this online without completing the booking process for each leg of your journey. However, our Central Reservations team would be more than happy to assist you. To discuss your stay, please call 01386 769100, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

What will I find in my room?

Each room across our collection of hotels is unique and therefore will have individually designed interiors, features and facilities. However, all rooms have an en-suite bathroom with walk-in or over-bath shower, comfortable bed, Freeview TV, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. Irons and ironing boards are available on request and some of our most luxurious rooms also feature Nespresso machines, roll-top baths, private gardens and even hot tubs.

Do you offer free Wi-Fi?

Yes, we’re pleased to offer all our guests free Wi-Fi to use anywhere in our hotels. To get online, simply open your preferred internet browser and login using the details provided to you upon check-in. You can also find the login details within the welcome pack in your bedroom.

Just popping in for a drink or bite to eat? Simply ask a member of the team for a Wi-Fi card!

Do you have any smoking rooms?

All of our hotels operate a no-smoking policy throughout, including the use of vapes and e-cigarettes.

How do I book breakfast?

There’s no need to book unless you have booked a room only break.

Breakfast is served at the following times:

Bay Tree Hotel - from 7.30 – 9.30am Monday to Friday and 8 – 10am on Saturday and Sunday.
Bear of Rodborough Hotel – from 7 - 9.30am Monday to Friday and 8 – 10am on Saturday and Sunday.
The Close Hotel – from 7.30 – 9.30am each day.
Hare and Hounds Hotel – from 7.30 – 10am Monday to Friday and 8 – 10am on Saturday and Sunday.
The Lamb Inn – from 8 – 10am each day.
Manor House Hotel – from 7.30 – 9.30am each day.
The Swan Hotel - from 7.30 – 9.30am Monday to Friday and 8 – 10am on Saturday and Sunday.

If you have any special requests such as room service or an early start, please ask reception in advance.

What facilities are provided for customers with disabilities?

Due to the age and listed nature of our properties; only The Swan Hotel and Manor House Hotel are permitted to have lifts. Despite this, ground floor rooms and accessible options are available across the group and we will always do whatever we can to place our guests in the most suitable room types upon booking and ensure they are comfortable throughout their stay.

Do Cotswold Inns & Hotels provide luggage room facilities?

Due to limited space our hotels don’t have dedicated rooms to leave your luggage, however if you do need to leave your bags with us for a short while we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Do any of your hotels have a spa, gym and swimming pool?

None of our hotel have spas or leisure facilities however we do have some luxury rooms with private hot tubs across the group. Our reception teams have excellent knowledge of the local area and will be more than happy to help you locate any facilities nearby.

What time is check-in?

Check in times vary across our collection of hotels as follows…

From 2pm: The Bay Tree Hotel
From 3pm: The Close Hotel, The Hare & Hounds Hotel, The Lamb, The Manor House Hotel, The Swan Hotel, The Bear of Rodborough

Early check-ins from 1pm can be booked in advance subject to availability and a small supplement. Please contact the hotel directly to enquire.

If you expect to arrive after 9pm, please let us know in advance so that we can arrange for the reception desk to be manned for your check-in.

When do I need to check out?

We kindly request that you check out by 11am on your day of departure.

Late check-outs until 12 noon can be booked in advance subject to availability and a small supplement. Please contact the hotel directly to enquire.

I don’t want to leave! Can I extend my stay?

We would love you to extend your stay with us! However, as our small country house hotels get very busy, we do ask that you speak to reception at your earliest convenience in order to check our availability and best prices for an extra night/s.

Does the hotel I’m staying at have parking?

All of our hotels have small carparks that are free of charge for our guests to use, excluding The Lamb Inn in Burford, where there is roadside parking. If staying at The Lamb Inn you are also welcome to park in The Bay Tree Hotel’s carpark just next door.

Some of our carparks have a different postcode to the main hotel address so please refer to your booking confirmation email for the correct postcode for your Sat Nav.

Do you have electric car charging points?

Yes! Many of our hotel car parks have an electric car charging point. Please note that neither of our hotels in Burford (The Lamb Inn or The Bay Tree) currently offer electric car charging points.

Can I bring my dog to the hotel?

We love man’s best friend and are pleased to welcome dogs across the group. Each hotel within the Cotswold Inns collection has a selection of specially-allocated dog-friendly bedrooms so if your four-legged-friend is coming along, please be sure to let us know in advance.

A small paw-print charge of £20 per night will apply to cover additional cleaning required (plus £10 for any additional dogs).

Can I smoke electronic cigarettes in the hotel?

E-cigarettes and vaporisers are not permitted inside our hotels. Please contact reception for directions to our designated smoking areas.

Can Cotswold Inns & Hotels cater for allergies and dietary requirements?

Yes! All of our hotels have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options readily available and our fantastic chefs are happy to cater to any dietary requirements with prior notice.

Who owns Cotswold Inns & Hotels?

Cotswold Inns & Hotels was founded in 1997 by Michael and Pamela Horton, who were at the helm for 22 years.

In 2019, the year that Michael celebrated his 80th birthday, the Horton’s felt it was time to look to the future and think about their retirement plans. After many months of great consideration to find the right buyer, Cotswold Inns and Hotels was sold to Fuller’s on 31st October, 2019.

If you’re unhappy with any aspect of your stay, please speak first to our reception team or management within the hotel so that we can try to resolve the issue for you as quickly as possible.

Can I plan a function with Cotswold Inns & Hotels?

Five of our hotels have function rooms available to hire for private dinners, parties, conferences, meetings and weddings. These facilities of varying sizes are available at The Bay Tree Hotel, The Bear of Rodborough Hotel, The Hare & Hounds Hotel, The Swan Hotel and The Manor House Hotel.

Although The Lamb Inn and The Close Hotel don’t have dedicated function space, we do on occasions allow private hire of our top lounge or section of the restaurant for cosy private dining.
